Far better than you might think

To me, My Girlfriend is an Angry Japanese Ghost sounded like an awkward book about an awkward topic: and after having read the free chapters and the book itself, I'm happy to say I was wrong. While I understand any book about a character such as a Porn writer you should take with a grain of salt, My Girlfriend Is an Angry Japanese Ghost really doesn't deserve it. The characters are (mostly) lighthearted and humorous in a style I would liken to Cyanide and Happiness at times, yet over the course of the story evolve into their own personalities: unlike the throwaway stick characters the comic uses and the relatively dry personalities they appear to be at the beginning of the book. Coupled with the spoof of reality the characters inhabit and you have a living, surprisingly virile story. And no, that was not a double entente.
That said, there are a few flaws in the book I feel need to be shared. There are a couple of grammatical errors that kind of nitpick at a grammar Nazi such as myself and one or two moments I feel I would have left out. However, that's just the nature of the beast and compared to how great the rest of the book is you'd be doing yourself a favor to at least try the free chapters. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who hasn't been living under a rock since the Twilight books came out (though I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to).
All in all if I could say one thing about this story, it'd be this:
I guarantee you'll want a sequel by the end of the book. I do.

Very decent book.

I have to say, it is a pretty good book. When I read the first few pages I thought it was just going to be another badly written porn turned into a book. But I have to say I was wrong. I really enjoyed the book. It was fun, witty, and was a very original concept. I can honestly say I've never read a better written adult novel. Granted I can could the number of adult books I've read on one hand. But it was a very fun concept. The author gave such a new outlook on supernatural creatures, and they made a lot of sense to boot. A vampire losing some of his memories and a werewolf being allergic to herself was a refreshing take on the currently overused stereotypes associated with them. The puns kept it interesting and they were very creative, which is hard to do because a lot of the good ones have already been used. Overall I think it was an underrated book that should get more attention because of the specks of literary gold hidden beneath all the porn puns.

Not bad for the price

It's really not too bad, for less than $5. The puns are entertaining, and they seem to make up for the references to... adult entertainment. I've seen a couple spelling and grammar mistakes, but some have actually been fixed, so at least the author is paying attention!
I have to say, the idea of a japanese vengeance ghost trying to cook is pretty funny. Not what I'd want in my kitchen, though.
